“RAD UP”, the collaborative pedelec rental at the University of Wuppertal

14/7/2015 Wuppertal

Wuppertal is a German city with many hills. Right now almost no student is using a bike to get to university because the route is too steep. With the project “RAD UP“ we want to rise students’ motivation for cycling by providing pedelecs (electric bikes) which are manufactured and upgraded from upcycled bikes. Another idea is to connect university campuses and city hot spots by developing a cycle path network.

Barrier This Solves

The actual barrier to ride a bike can be solved by providing the feature of electric support. The idea of using upcycled and refurbished bikes makes the project more sustainable and attractive for students.
