#SlowWall is a mix of campaign and physical hack aimed to create more empathy between cyclists and pedestrians. It does this by making it fun to go slow, encourages people to enjoy their surroundings and engage with others.
Barrier This Solves
This hack solves barriers that arise on shared pedestrian and bike pathways, or at points where they cross. Cyclists need to slow down in these areas but we wanted to avoid asking people to dismount. There is a Sea Wall in Vancouver that is a recreational pathway around the beautiful Stanley Park, but often people try to cycle round this too fast and as it is often a very crowded pathway this can be dangerous and make people (both cyclists and pedestrians) angry.
