A visualisation of bike counter data from 33 London Road, Edinburgh 2015/16. It is compared with fictional data for cars and trains. This is a screen based prototype of a proposal for a physical pseudo-clock installation. Data is animated at x6 actual speed.
Barrier This Solves
Lack of visualisations of available data, which could encourage cycle use.
I propose that this clock installation would be installed at railway stations, over main city centre roads, and next to major cycle routes (perhaps at traffic lights, or other locations where people are waiting). I thought it would be interesting to observe over time, such that one would hopefully see frequency of cycles and trains increasing, and cars decreasing over long periods of time.
